Time with the Big Kids

The last 2 weekends were just about the girls. Since having Kanon it has been hectic and some much needed time with the girls was a MUST!  They loved having mom and dad all to themselves.  Not just 1 weekend but 2! Okay, maybe they were more excited about the hotel with a pool.

Our first trip was to Webster City for Pre-State Tumbling.  We left early and did some shopping in Des Moines.  Do you know how hard it is to find black leggings?!  We went to several stores before finally giving up! Does anyone else have a kid that is extremely picking about clothes? Kenly is so hard to please when it comes to clothing. I dread shopping with her.  I know, that isn't nice but it's such a fight. Kaydee now days only wants dresses or skirts. She has to be fancy. In case you didn't know, she has big plans to be famous.

They enjoyed swimming with their friends in the pool. I enjoyed some adult sitting pool side time with the other parents.  It doesn't happen very often to get to hang out with adults.

The girls did a great job at competition.  I enjoy watching them out on the dead mat and rod floor doing something they work so hard to accomplish. Kenly tied for 5th and Kaydee received 3rd place.  I do enjoy the photo booth fun with all the girls.  They crack us up with all the props.  Kaydee really gets into the facial expressions.  I'm sure you have been annoyed with my post of all my photos but the kid cracks me up. I can't help it.

This past weekend we had State Competition in Boone.  We didn't leave until later.  We stopped in Ames and tried out a new restaurant (to us) Hickory Park! Wow!! That place is huge.  When we pulled up I was sure the wait would be an hour or longer.  Nope, only 20 minutes.  The food was so good and you got so much!   They have one huge menu of just ice cream. Yep...just ice cream!  Of course we all ordered some. Hello, you can't go to a place like that and not try it.  I highly recommend that place.  I only wish it wasn't in Ames and you didn't have to be surrounded by that yucky red and gold Cyclone folk.

The girls once again went swimming.  This time no hot tub to enjoy and the pool was cold so it didn't last long.  We ended up hanging  in the lobby with other tumbling parents and kids.  Kaydee made her appearance know (I know hard to imagine, right?!) In her footed pjs with Hawkeye pants over them.  What can I say, the kid dresses like her dad. Haha.

We had to be up bright and early for competition.  I never sleep well the night before I need to get up early.  I always stress I'll over sleep.   Kenly had a bit of an off day.  She received 7th in her flight and 14th overall. Kaydee rocked her pass.  She received 2nd in her flight and 5th overall.  All day it seemed the scoring was all over the place. Not just for my girls but for many groups.  I guess that is why I'm not a judge. Both girls qualified for Nationals! I am so proud of my girls.  They amaze me everyday.  Tumbling teaches them so much more than rolls, flips (which are called skills...see I learn too).  They learn about working hard, friendship, sportsmanship and so many life lessons.

We did make one stop at Lowe's and Target before heading to Seymour to get our guy.  I took Kaydee with me to Target.  That girl can shop! She almost had me suckered into 2 new pairs of shoes.... for her.

When we made it to Seymour both girls were fighting over bubba.  He of course just wanted his momma.  Haha.  Once we got home and the car unloaded, I decided to enjoy the weather. We played outside for a  hour. Kanon enjoyed picking grass and trying to eat it. Both girls worked on tumbling before the softball stuff came out.

Much needed time with the girls was enjoyed by all. I am so blessed.  I often wonder what I did to deserve these awesome kids I have.  I will forever be thankful they were picked for me!  Also guess what....we are headed to Knoxville, Tennessee in June!

My New Venture

My new venture...

I am a wife, Mother to 3, full-time employee, part-time Realtor and now I am a Younique Presenter! My children are active in sports. My husband works many "side" jobs.  You could say our lives are crazy busy.  Some have asked "why add one more thing?!" I ask "why not?"

Turns out I love being busy!  Now I also love having some down time too! The reason I joined the Younique team is because of how it makes me feel.  I have been a 3-D Lash consumer for 3 years! I love it! I hardly have any lashes so it makes me feel better about myself.  I recently tried the Mineral Liquid Foundation.  Wow! That was my moment of "I want to sell this stuff."  I love the way it feels.  I almost feel like I am not wearing any foundation at all.   The liquid eyeliner was something new I tried about 2 weeks ago. I struggle with eyeliner and this is the first kind that I can put on with confidence.  It also doesn't rub off or smear anywhere else on my face...a huge plus for me!  I am so excited to start using the primer and eye shadow.

I want to share these amazing products with others.  If I can make just 1 other lady feel good then that is success to me.  I hope to make many more feel amazing.  I am beyond excited for this venture!

The things we do for our kids....

Tonight we went to the Lakeview Carnival.  It was our first time attending the event.  Kudos to the school staff, students and all the volunteers that put alot of work and time into it.  My girls had a blast.  Kaydee Mae had some tears when the fun was over and it was time to go home.
Tonight made me realize all the things parents do for their kids.  We put our needs and wants aside for our children.   My idea of Friday night was putting on my pjs, having a mommy drink and just hanging out.   I knew my kids would have a good time at the Carnival so that is what I planned.  How many times have you let them pick the restaurant,  movie, or game to make them happy? We all do it whether it's what we want or not.
I remember growing up and shopping and my mom would never buy anything for herself.  I never understood why she wouldn't...until I became a mom.  I now go shopping but never purchase a thing for myself.
I love seeing my kids happy.  I love it even more when they appreciate it and actually say thank you without being told.
I can say without a doubt I live for my kids.  I am a mom first. I am 100% happy and content with that.
